There was something missing in creation without you. God couldn't stand the idea of not knowing you, so He created you! He made you fearfully and wonderfully. Fearfully like a proud parent sending a grown child into the world, and wonderfully knowing the beautiful life He has in store for you.
He made you for a good and fulfilling purpose. Ephesians 2:10 says it like this “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” #Hello! In another translation, instead of “workmanship”, the word “masterpiece” is used. A masterpiece doesn’t contain mistakes. You are exactly who He wants you to be. All He wants for you is to draw near to Him, and in return, He will draw near to you. When we think about being in a relationship, it’s usually a two-way street. It’s the same with God. He knew us before we were ever aware of Him, and now He wants you to draw near to Him—to know Him too. The nearer you are, the more you will be able to discover who He is. In discovering who He is, you will discover more of who you are—a masterpiece.
If you ever feel far, if you ever feel alone, if you ever feel unsure of your purpose, insecure about who you are, or underappreciated for what you do, remember you are His masterpiece. You are known, and loved, and lacking nothing. There would be something missing in creation without you.
“You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
